Major Russian Strikes Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The assaults come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
