Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then found numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials state initial examinations suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in association with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the public for details.
A high-ranking representative commented the incident left him stunned and needed to be solved quickly.
"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
